Get in touch
Email paraapp.support@proton.me. Para is made by one independent developer, so replies usually take a day or two — every message is read.
It helps if you include your device model, your iOS or Android version, and the app version (Preferences → About → Version). If something looks wrong on a specific screen, a screenshot answers most questions instantly.
Common questions
I got a new phone. How do I move my data?
Preferences → Data → Create backup on the old phone, and send the file to yourself however you like. On the new phone, install Para and use Restore from backup in the same place. Restoring replaces everything currently in the app, so do it before you start entering data.
I deleted something by mistake.
Deleting a category, account, goal, bill or loan hides it rather than erasing your history — past transactions keep their name, colour and icon. There is no undo in the app, so restore from a backup if you need it back.
Where is my data stored?
On your device, in a local database. It is never sent to us or to any server we control. See the privacy policy for the full picture, including what your device backup contains.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Preferences → Subscription → Manage subscription, which opens your store’s own subscription settings. You can also get there directly — on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android: Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
I subscribed but the app still asks me to.
Tap Restore purchases — on the plans screen, or in Preferences. That re-checks the store account you bought with (your Apple ID, or your Google account) for an active subscription. Make sure you are signed in with the same account you purchased on — that is the usual cause. If it still does not unlock, email us and mention which store and which country you purchased in.
Can I ask for a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, not by us. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use your Play order history or Play’s refund request form. We never receive the payment, so we cannot reverse the charge ourselves — but do write to us if a request is refused and you think it was unfair.
My reminders are not arriving.
Check that reminders are on in Preferences, and that the operating system allows notifications for Para — on iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Para; on Android: Settings → Apps → Para → Notifications. Individual bills, subscriptions and loans can also be muted from the bell on their own screen. On some Android phones, aggressive battery optimisation can delay reminders; allowing Para to run in the background fixes it.
Requests and bug reports
Both are welcome at the same address. If you are reporting something that looks like a bug, describing what you expected to happen alongside what did happen is the single most useful thing you can include.
